Obituary for Shirley Wagner

Shirley Roland Wagner, 81, of Port Saint Joe, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, FL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30am ET Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Long Avenue Baptist Church, with Pastor Eli Prine officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Wagner was born August 23, 1936 in Chester, GA. Daughter to the late J.D. Roland and late Leccie Mae Roland (Bacon). She retired after 20 years of service from the Department of Family and Children Services of Florida and held the position of Family Adoption Counselor. Mrs. Wagner was a member of Long Avenue Baptist Church. She, and her late husband Ronald Wagner, ministered frequently to the Baptist Christian Service Center in Panama City. They also ministered overseas to an orphanage overseas in Slovakia. Mrs. Wagner loved the Lord and spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening and the beach. She was a Godly woman and will be missed by all.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Wagner is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ronald Wagner, son Roland “Rolo” Wagner and six siblings. She is survived by her children; Debra Morris (Charles) of Apalachicola, FL, Sheryl Register (Mancel) of Montevallo, AL, James A. Wagner of Port Saint Joe, FL, and Bryan K. Wagner (Tonya) of Lynn Haven, FL; grandchildren Tommy, David, Lisa Rae, Christopher, Amber, Jimmy, Jessica, Adam, Lael, Karissa and Lauren; 18 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
