Obituary for Robert Earl Peak
Robert “Earl” Peak, age 82, of Port St. Joe, FL passed away August 22, 2017 at Covenant Hospice in Panama City, FL surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held 4:00PM EST on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Oak Grove Assembly of God, 613 Madison Street, Port St. Joe, FL 32456 with Pastor Glenn Davis, Pastor Dave Fernandez, and Pastor Derrek Gerber officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery, 1665 Madison Street, Port St. Joe, FL with military honors. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church from 2:00PM-4:00 PM EST.
Mr. Peak, son of the late Leroy Peak and Willie Ethel Peak Griggs, was born March 3, 1935 in Holmes County, FL. Earl retired after many years of dedicated service as a Manager at AmeriGas. He also served his country as a service member of the U.S. Army before being honorably discharged. Earl was an active member of Hope Family Worship Center where he was a member of the Men’s Choir and Sunday School. He was involved in a Music Ministry to nursing homes, assisted living, Senior Citizens Center, and other organizations around the local area. He loved spending time with family, fishing, and gardening. He would grow his own vegetables and was known as the “Pepper King”. Earl had many fish fry and grilled chicken events for various local non-profit organizations. Earl was an active member of the Highland View Fire Department, and member of the Water Commission of Highland View.
Other than his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Roy Charles Peak, John Willis Peak, Paul Ray Peak, Noah Peak, O’Neal Peak, Jr Peak, Hosey Peak, and Cora Elizabeth Peak Brownell.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Melba “Granny Mel” Peak of Port Saint Joe, Florida; sons; Danny Leroy Peak (Debra) of Port Saint Joe, FL; Kenneth Earl Peak (Cheryl) of Port Saint Joe “Dalkeith”, FL; Dennis Dwyane Peak (Micah) of Wewahitchka, FL; grandchildren Brandon Nicholas Peak, Brittnee Nichole Peak, Kenneth Earl Peak, JR (Melissa), Morgan Danielle Peak Burkett (Sean), Megan Olivia Peak McKeeby (Wade), Christopher Kyle Peak (Brittany), Mallory LeAnn Peak; great grandchildren McKenna, Layla, Gracie, Kailey, Austyn Christopher Kyle; brother Jerry Lamar Peak (Carolyn); sister Carolyn Williams; and numerous other relatives and friends.
